When the quality of your life is affected by an orthopedic injury or condition, our staff at Diveris Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is ready to assist you in your recovery.

Work Comp and Sports Medicine

Though you may not believe that workers compensation and sports medicine have anything in common, the two could not be more alike.

The injured worker has a set of specific goals in mind: fix the injury and get back to work as soon as possible

The injured athlete's goals: fix the injury and and get back to playing as soon as possible.

When thinking in those terms,  the process is not too different. And who better to treat an injured worker than someone who has dealt with sports injuries. Whether the injury is the knee, elbow or shoulder, work comp or sports-injury related,  you can rely on Diveris Orthopedics and Sports Medicine to assist you with your orthopedic needs.

Maximum functional restoration and return to work/ sports healthy lifestyle for our patients

At DOSM,  we not only treat the injury, but we also treat the patient. With a goal of maximum functional restoration, our hope is to get patients back to work functioning at their best capability.  In addition, we work with athletes ensuring that they are living a sports healthy lifestyle, to ensure maximum recovery. Functional restoration uses goal-oriented treatment approaches with post-operative rehabilitation, sports medicine and chronic pain. Physical and occupational therapy is included within the treatment approaches, and along with pain management when necessary.

Returning to work is not only the goal of the patient, but it is a goal of DOSM. Implementing a sports healthy lifestyle, and getting the patient back to work is what the staff at DOSM strives to accomplish.

Beginnings

As a graduate of Northwestern University, where he completed his B.A. in 1977, his Medical Degree (M.D.) in 1981 and his orthopedic surgery residency in 1986, Dr. Diveris has come to have special interest in the arthroscopic injuries of the knee and shoulder.

His first five years of practicing medicine were spent in a private practice, as a general orthopedic surgeon. While working with Anthony Romeo M.D., he learned methodologies altering his approach of surgery.

Things changed for Dr. Diveris upon completing a sub-specialty fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine and athletic injuries in Knoxville, Tennessee. Focusing on reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder, this fellowship changed the way Dr. Diveris practiced medicine. He was responsible for assisting in the coverage of all the athletic teams at the University of Tennessee in the prestigious Southeastern Athletic Conference (SEC). This fellowship focused on reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder,  as well as the management of the full spectrum of orthopedic injuries involved with all of the NCAA Division I athletes at the university.
